According to June 27 (UPI) — South Korean boy band BTS made Time’s new list of the Most Influential People on the Internet the week.
K-pop group BTS attends the Billboard Music Awards on May 21.

The K-pop group and other celebrities, including model Chrissy Teigen, singer Katy Perry and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, were honored by the magazine.

BTS overtook such stars as Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez to spend 27 consecutive weeks atop Billboard’s “Social 50” chart this year. The boy band won Top Social Artist at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards in May.

“We still cannot believe we’re standing here on this stage at the Billboard Music Awards,” Rap Monster said in the group’s acceptance speech. “This award belongs to the every people around the world that shine the love and light on us by the million and make BTS proud.”

The Time list was followed by news that BTS will perform with Seo Tai-ji at the singer’s 25th anniversary concert. The Korea Herald reported Tuesday that BTS and Seo will sing several of the singer’s hits at a show Sept. 2 in Seoul.

“With BTS, Seo will perform his earliest songs exactly as they were performed in the 1990s,” an official from Seo’s label, Seotajji Co., said of the former Seo Taiji and the Boys singer.

“From selecting songs to designing the stage, he is putting every effort into preparing for this special stage,” the rep added.

BTS members Rap Monster, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook last released the album Wings in October. The record, which includes the single “Blood Sweat & Tears,” peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard 200, making it the highest-charting K-pop album.
